THE TINT SHOP

The Tint Shop of WNC is owned by Kerry Worthy, operated by Kerry Worthy and managed by Colby Laughter. Both Kerry and Colby fulfill all window tinting work orders in the business.

Kerry Case Worthy, was born and raised in Hendersonville, NC. At the age of 18 she moved to Brevard, NC. By age 20, Kerry was the mother to two children, Colby and Ashley. When Kerry was just 21 years of age she opened her very first business in automotive detailing. Four years later she added automotive window tinting to this business. Kerry set forth to learn the trade of window tinting every evening after the automotive detailing work orders were complete. It was not uncommon to see her working into the morning hours as she mastered window tinting.

A company named Comfort Vision at the time but now known as Madico offered classes in Atlanta to teach the details of the window tinting trade. This class taught Kerry another line of tinting known as Flat Glass, which is commonly referred to as residential windows and commercial businesses storefront windows. Kerry knew immediately there was a need for this in Western North Carolina.

27 years into owning and operating the detail shop and window tinting, Kerry decided to narrow down to the business speciality of window tinting. The detailing side of the business was closed and the business was renamed to THE TINT SHOP OF BREVARD. The supplies are still purchased from Madico in Atlanta, the original vendor from the start of the business.

Hard work, dedication, and preservation have carried Kerry through her success story and she has remained humble from the start. Kerry faced some struggles at a very young age, at just 14 years old, she lost her mother to an extended battle of cancer. After her mother’s battle with cancer, Kerry dropped out of high school at the 10th grade level. Kerry became a single mother raising her two children and she eventually settled into her permanent residence in Brevard, NC where she built her home, raised her children, and still resides with her husband of 7 years.

Both of Kerry’s children attended and graduated Brevard High School. Her oldest son, Colby graduated from Brevard College and began a career at Flint Group in Arden, NC. Colby, having the same hard work and dedication as his mother, quickly worked his way into management and stayed with the factory for 8 years. Today, Colby is managing THE TINT SHOP and works alongside his mother daily. In the future, as Kerry reaches the much deserved retirement milestone, Colby will take over as the 2nd generation to serve Western North Carolina meeting all automotive, residential and commercial window tinting needs across the area. Ashley, Kerry’s youngest daughter, followed in her mothers footsteps, directly after graduation opened her own business of cleaning businesses and this business is still up and running today.
